HUGGING MEDITATION AT PETER MAC?

I have been wondering how I can contribute back to Peter Mac. Sometimes you ask and universe delivers.

It makes my day when I find this email from CEO of Peter Mac. I hope Dale won’t mind if I post this. It is a testament of a leader with a kind heart. Kindness has become a rarity in this world. Peter Mac is in good hands.

I am so grateful of her openness to embrace hugs. It allows others to do the same. (watch her message here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USDSmpX-RTg)

Hugging is not unprofessional. Being disrespectful is.
Always hug with respect. I always ask people if I can hug them before pouncing on them ha.

Sometimes, the word “professionalism” creates wall to be someone we are not and dampen authentic relationship which is important to create connection.

Sometimes my coaching session is done while sitting the swings, park bench or walking on the beach. Even over Skype there is always so much laughter. Others may see it as unprofessional but I take my work professionally when my coaching hat is on.

I say,”People are happiest when they have the freedom to be who they are.”

Connection is important and trust is created when you are being true to yourself and others. What goes on in the inside must match with your delivery on the outside.

Cancer treatment is a long and tough journey. We need that emotional healing as well as physical healing.

Those hugs from the nurses, doctors, physio, staffs definitely healing for me.

If we can make the journey easier with laughter, hugs, love and kindness….then why not?

If we are nice to the doctors, nurses and staffs, they will be nice to us. It’s a WIN WIN situation for everyone.

We also need to have the compassion that they are doing their best.

PS: I sent a reply. I wasn’t sure if she will reply or even say yes to hugging meditation at Peter Mac but at least I have asked. I have no fear of rejection anymore – life is short ha 🙂

Kim asked,”Did you consult to your other friends to go through your reply first?”

I replied,”I was tempted but then it wouldn’t be me.” I am not the best writer and it may read differently. Even in person, sometimes I say the wrong thing that may offend people because it was lost in translation 😮

Press like/leave comment if you think running hugging meditation is a good idea?

This hugging meditation is based on the work of zen master Thich Nhat Hanh . It can also be a space to support group for other patients and carers (and staffs) while they are at the hospital anyway.

Have an amazing weekend everyone 😀

THREE GIRLS WALKED UP TO A MUSSELS POT BAR…

THREE GIRLS WALKED UP TO A MUSSELS POT BAR…

I can’t stop laughing in this video. Shelly is a pro at doing the talking. I have funny friends. They keep me young haha.

I haven’t seen Shelly for a couple of years. It was good to catch up. I can’t remember the last time I went to Queen Victoria Market. I have been avoiding public places for a while.

D248: THAT STRANGE TRANSITION TIME AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN ALL CLEAR

My cancer friends will understand this. I wonder if you find it odd as well that your hair is growing and you starting to look well but your body is still not 100%.

On my PET scan the doctor even showed me that there’s still inflammation on my radiation area.

First is to accept that it will be a lengthy process. Next, is to remember to listen to your body even when you don’t have anymore treatment. Rest is still very important. Take your time to heal. Don’t rush it.

Say no if you need to. Life can get busy once you can start planning.

As odd as it sounds, life is simpler during treatment. You have no other option but to focus in the moment.

D246 : CANCER HUMBLES YOU THAT YOU ARE NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE – Julian

Thank you Julian for sharing your story. Please send prayers for him. I believe he is 21, too young to be strucked by cancer.

He also share a message to support those who are going through cancer. It is a tough gig.

Any support you can offer means a lot for patients and their carers.

D246: HUGGING CELEBRATION

D246: HUGGING CELEBRATION

It was a great day with a great news of clear scan for me. Thank you for your hugs. Please tag if you recognise the face. I laughed so much. Thank you for your love for me.

I hugged everyone at the lift on my way to ward 9. One of the stranger that I hugged left me with a big smile on her face. She said, “Thank you. It’s my birthday.” Sometimes, it is the smallest thing. It makes me smile.

After that, we went for lunch and checked out State Library of Victoria. If you never been, go up to the dome and check out the exhibition. Shame my phone went dead. I found an indoor courtyard at the library. I passed out on the beanbag haha. Kim said she poked me and I was out like a log. I need my nap desperately. Crazy how tired I get and I was just out walking. I was exhausted by the time I got home and spend the next day resting.

I’m preparing my body, mind and spirit to serve the world in the next few weeks and going back to do what I love as a life coach.

D246: GREAT NEWS FOR HANNAH

So happy for Hannah 🙂 I first met her in November.

Hannah is on a trial for Ewing’s Sarcoma. Apparently, the trial only available for those under 30. Her chemo has worked and shrink 95% of her tumour prior to surgery which went well. I’m hoping it’ll all be good news all the way 🙂

Love you Hannah And Jen

D246: LIVE FOR TODAY FOR TOMORROW WILL LOOK AFTER ITSELF – Marie and Gavan

I bumped into Gavan again yesterday. Marie shared what the doc says about Gavan 🙁 Unfortunately, it is not the same news as mine.

What a lovely man. He still have a big smile on his face albeit what the doctor said.

I just realised when I first met Gavan in October it was his first time in Peter Mac being treated for Ewing’s. The chance for anyone over 40 with Ewing is 1 in 300.000.

Gavan has successfully battled with Lymphoma 4 years ago. Ewing’s has caused him trouble this time.

Please send prayers for Gavan and Marie, and the whole family. Let there be miracle.
