Hug #81 : Beryl, the semi precious gemstone she said 🙂 She has started chemo since January and had to come back every 3 weeks. I asked her for insider tips haha. What a lovely lady 🙂 She lives in Swan Hill which is 4 hours drive. Hope you enjoy your chemo break Beryl and have lots of laugh for me 🙂

We were both a busy person (she was a manager at red cross shop) before cancer hits us.

It takes time to adjust. We ought to have LOVE and COMPASSION for our body when it is failing us and our independence when it is taken away from us.

When there is darkness, see the crack of light. Even a crack can light up our heart 🙂

I am taking it as a sign that universe wants me to rest, use this time to connect deeper with myself and others, and allow people to give in return (which was challenging at a start).

Hug #80 : Kym my neighbour to my left who is taking Beryl, her mum for chemo every 3 weeks. Beryl had to be administered drug as long as I do. So, I get to share many stories and laughter with them.

Thank you Kym and Beryl, your smiles gave me strength during my port insertion.

Hope you had a safe travel home and get to enjoy the chemo break too 🙂

Hug #78: A very special hug from a beautiful stranger called Leanne who found my page through Melissa – Steph (Zane’s gf) mum. She told me a great news that Starligh Foundation is taking Zane up to Port Douglas.

She said she has never done this before to jump up and visited a stranger. I applaud you for following your heart and share your random act of kindness.

Bless your kind soul xx

Hug #77 : Thank you Yvette for coming in twice on your lunch break and after work. I haven’t seen her for ages and we just met a few times but she kindly offers to keep me company on her week off. It was great to see her and I find it fascinating how cancer rekindles many connection in your life.

Hug #76 : Lauren my dietitian Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre came to see me again this round to congratulate my mum and Kim because my weight has been managed well last round with IE drug and I didn’t lost much at all.

The other combo drug of VDC seems to hit me a lot harder. I hope I can still keep up my weight this round of VDC.

Thanks Lauren for the hugs, the care and Ensure prescription to keep me well 🙂

I may have created my giggles corner at chemo day unit. It has been spoken that I should come as a clown to entertain the ward when I have chemo haha.

I made lovely new friends to my left (Beryl & Kim) and right (Sheryn, Mark & Liz). Laughing and hugging make chemo more fun. Apology for my IV machine noise. Next time I know not to put my phone on top of it to video haha.

Chemo went well. I was there by 10am and left by 6pm. It hits me a lot quicker than last time. Usually, I get sick by day 3. These drugs affected me at 3pm, my energy level has gone down. I felt nauseous and want to rest. Early night for me.

Cancerpedia : The day you starts chemo count as day 1. From day 7 your white blood will starts to go down and it will pick up again by day 14. Day 7-14 are where you are prone to infection. Avoid public places when you can and wash your hands often.

Special shout out to : Leanne , Kym, Beryl and Sheryn for being lovely guest on my vlog and having a laugh with me.

Message of the day as shared by the ladies : BE KIND, ENJOY one another’s company and make sure your FRIENDS and FAMILY are looked after and cared for.

Thank you and good night lovelies! xx

Do you know that there is special shop to the right of the entrance (I just found out yesterday) filled with knitted items donated by friends/family/patrons of Peter Mac?

Happy Thursday 🙂

When all else fails, take a deep BREATH, open your heart to LOVE to have compassion for yourself and the situation. Then, SMILE and LET IT GO 🙂

I look way too excited for someone who is on their way to chemo haha. Bless Kim for taking me in to hospital. She is so sweet. She said,”I won’t be there to hold your hand (she has to go to work) when they access your double port (read : when they inject 2 needles on my chest to administer chemo drugs).”
