D253: ‘NOT QUITE’ THE CALM AFTER THE STORM – THE AFTERMATH OF CANCER

I’d love to hear experiences from my cancer friends about this.

I find comfort reading Living Well After Cancer booklet from Cancer Council Victoria. Even though, I am the lucky ones that haven’t lost any limbs. There is still an after math of rebuilding your life after cancer.

It doesn’t magically switch back to normal after treatment. I hope my friends could be patience with me. And if you have friends who finished treatment, keep supporting them.

When cancer storm hits, you pour your energy holding on to every bricks of hope. Keeping yourself grounded so you don’t lost yourself. It finally it passes and you can take a breather. Your home was damaged but you are safe. You ponder at what’s in front you. Your life may not be back to what it used to. Maybe the point is not to be back to the life we once had but to create an even more daring life. All cancer patients are dare devils who cheated death.

Honestly, I feel vulnerable putting my goals out loud to the world.

I don’t know if you noticed on the videos sometimes I couldn’t recall words. I’m not sure if this is due to chemo brain? It’ll be challenging to be a public speaker on a larger scale (Being on TED Talk is on my bucket list).

If I didn’t put this out there, I have already failed before I even started.

May I have the blessings to reach many more and make this world a happier place before my time passes.
