D185: HO HO HO…HUGS HUGS HUGS

More hugs today and visit from various doctors. I got visited by acute pain doctors, oncology doctors, and colorectal surgical team due to my excruciating ‘fartspams’ yesterday. They believe it is a classic anal fissure case. The colorectal surgeon said the experience is like having a sharp glass going through your butt. I nodded in pain to that.

Noam, my pain doctor, offered local anesthetic surgery to help with my pain. It will be either spine or epidural procedure which will help block nerve pain for few days. He is so kind and organised to make this happens should I say yes to this. He is concerned that we won’t be able to do this over the weekend if I get really bad episode.

My oncologist team supports whatever decision I made. I chatted to mum and decided to hold off surgery and try these new pain infusions of Ketamene and Fentanyl (I’m back on my pain pump now). There is always risk in doing everything. Mum and I were concerned about complication on the nerve.

Then, I had a visit from colorectal team which propose to do a gentler approach by putting me under, analyse and inject botox to help with my nerve pain. I joked and said, ” This one is on my butt, not my face?” The plan is to do this on Monday.

I had another bad episode tonight. Thank you John for coming up to ICU and put canulla on me. So, I can have breakthrough on tramadol IV. Both of my port are already accessed for Ketamene (currently, on 8mg) and Fentanyl (20mg on PCA pump) These pain meds save my life. Lucky, I didn’t get crazy side effect from Ketamene like when I was in ICU.

I went down to physio too in my pump sleigh! 🙂 If you want to laugh, check out my hospital sleigh video 🙂

I got a visit from Santa too today 🙂 Everyone is in jolly spirit here. I love it.

Thanks everyone at Peter Mac for your hug, love and laughter 🙂
