Laughter with Cancer

Can you make a SMILEY face through pain?

In my 5 days as an inpatient, I got daily injection with CLEXANE to stop unwanted blood clots due to chemo drugs. I asked the nurses if they can make a smiley face and they comply haha (will see if I can take a clearer pic of it). Be creative in making fun out of unfortunate situation. You’ll get a smile out of it! 😀

Every second days (D6,8,10,12,14), I have to inject FILGRASTIM to help increase my white blood cells. Still stings but I’m getting better at this.

Quick report: I’m still unwell but feeling better from first round. I got sent home with more drugs. Another amazing cancer friend, Julia Watson, told me about EMEND which seems to help a lot with my nausea. She said the doc only gave it out if you get really sick. Apparently, because it is expensive (about $150). I was given a tablet of EMEND on Monday morning. They said it lasted for a few days and it seems to help. YAY!

I also believe it’s my mum’s devoted prayers for me and her abundance of love that makes everything better too. She makes yummy chicken broth and chicken congee for me. It is great news that I can eat even just a small bites because I couldn’t eat anything for a few days last round. Then, again it is a different drug but I have been told every round will be more managable.

I also found out that I am allergic to PRAMIN / MAXOLON which caused me locked jaw.

My weigh now down from 66.3 kg last night to 63.5 tonight. I have lost 2.8 kg worth of fluid in a day. I’ll be expecting more fluid / weight loss in the next few days. I hope I don’t lose too much this round. It is bizzare to find out you can stack on/off that much weigh in a day.

Good night, rest well and end your day with smile 🙂
